An obligatory stop along the Via Francigena, the Ranverso estate is an authentic jewel of religious and civil architecture of the Piedmontese Middle Ages.
This place, nestled in the woods of the Valsusa Valley, is home to one of the oldest hospitals in the area, where the terrible ‘St. Anthony's Fire’, one of the most widespread diseases in the 12th century, was treated.
Both the church and the sacristy hold priceless art treasures, starting with the magnificent frescoes by Giacomo Jaquerio that are so touching in their profound humanity.
