An obligatory stop on the Via Francigena, the Ranverso complex is an authentic jewel of religious and civil architecture from the Piedmontese Middle Ages.
In this place, nestled in the woods of the Susa Valley, lies one of the oldest hospitals in the area, the one where the terrible "St. Anthony's Fire" was treated, one of the most widespread diseases in the 12th century.
The church houses priceless artistic treasures, starting with the wonderful frescoes by Giacomo Jaquerio, so moving in their profound humanity.
