Pinerolo
At the foot of the Alps, right where Monviso expresses all its majesty, lies the ancient city indissolubly linked to the history of the surrounding territory and to the events of the entire House of Savoy.
Pinerolo, which today evokes the magical experience of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games, has been the scene of events of great historical impact since the Middle Ages.
This enchanting town was a Free Municipality, but also the capital of the first Piedmontese State, was French for as many as 120 years and also the setting for the story of the "Man in the Iron Mask".
Pinerolo is above all the undisputed "City of Cavalry": between the 19th and 20th centuries, the school of the same name hosted Federigo Caprilli, universally recognized as the father of the "natural riding style"
Losing yourself among the squares or under the elegant arcades is a bit like reliving that enchanting Belle Époque atmosphere.
